This policy explains the limited information Carpool handles.

Data you provide
We store event names, destinations, event and departure times, display names, meeting points, seat counts, notes, ride requests, and compact activity history. No account, email, or phone number is required.
Private access keys
The access key is stored in the URL fragment and sent to the API as a capability header. Treat the complete link like a password.
Operational data
Limited technical logs support security, reliability, rate limiting, and diagnosis. Private board content is not placed in analytics events.
Analytics
Optional analytics runs only after consent. Private routes use identifier-free event measurement and never send locators, keys, names, destinations, meeting points, times, notes, or private URLs.
Retention and sharing
Data is retained to operate the board and may be deleted after prolonged inactivity. We do not sell personal information.
